Today we are making a very yummy and a very tasty cake and if you actually know how to bake, then it will take you only 20-30 minutes to bake it, I normally start making it and as soon as I start smelling the aroma of the cake, I put my tea on stove and enjoy freshly baked yummy cake with my yummmmmmmyy tea.
It’s not very difficult, it’s actually very simple and I am very confused today, cause it is too simple to share on the blog, but I am still sharing it with you cause I want all of you to give it a try and then let me know, what was your first word that came out of your mouth, when you had the first piece of this cake in your mouth, I am very excited about that today, so shell we start.
2/3 Cup Semolina Flour
1/3 Cup All-Purpose Flour
5 Large Eggs,
2/3 Cup Sugar, actually you need to take the sugar accordingly your semolina and then we will take one tablespoon finely chopped organic lemon rinds.
I always make lemon syrup with that and I would suggest you do the same or you will miss the heavenly yummy flavor.
2 1/2 cups water and cups caster sugar, same quantity, then you need 6 to 7 tablespoons organic lemon juice, better if you squeeze it at home and then you need finely chopped organic lemon rinds too.
Now we will preheat the oven to 350 ℉ or 176 ℃ and grease a 9 inch diameter baking pan with cooking spray and sprinkle some flour on it too, now we will start cake.
We will take a big bowl and we will add semolina flour, and lemon rinds and mix well and then we will put it aside and then we will take a mixing bowl and whisk by hand or in a mixer, cream the egg yolks and sugar together until light and creamy and then we will take a spatula and stir in the orange rinds, semolina, and flour together until blended, but don’t over blend, cause we need that airy sponge texture in the cake and the we will take another mixing bowl and add in the egg whites and beat till firm foam but not over beaten and then we will add egg whites into the egg yolk and flour mixture and mix with spatula and then gently fold, batter is ready, it is time to pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and put it in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and then we will take it out and give it some time to get set.
To make the syrup you need to take a small sauce pan and add sugar, water, lemon juice and lemon rinds in it and bring it to a boil then let it simmer over low heat till it start getting thick and sticky syrup and then put it aside and then we will serve the cake with syrup, just cut the slice and pour the syrup evenly over the cake and serve.
